Vote Of No Confidence Passed On Inactive APC Ward Leader

On Wednesday 27th May 2026, a vote of no confidence, was passed on Hon. Theophilus Okoh for  his ineffectiveness, abandonment of responsibilities, poor leadership, financial malfeasance, gross incompetence and other sundry matters, in managing the affairs of the Party in Ward one of Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state.

Moving the motion, in a meeting that held today, at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ward one Party Secretariat, in Ibore-Irrua, Mr. Oriaifo C.O, an ex-Officio of the APC in the ward, said; "...in this Ward, the All Progressives Congress, has been operating like sheep without Shepherd. The leadership of this party in this Ward, is sick".


"... before now, we hardly have a crowd as large as this whenever we call for meetings. Thank God that is now becoming a thing of the past".


"Theophilus Okoh, is supposed to be a Super leader in this Ward, but the last time he actively participated in APC activities in this Ward, was in 2023, as at that time, a sum of over two million naira, meant for the ward, remain unaccounted for".


"Mr. Oriaifo who also pointed out that, Hon. Theophilus Okoh was not seen in his Ward, neither did he participate in all the other elections that held, despite the fact that he was a Super leader, has not shown any exemplary attribute of a worthy leader. On this note, I hereby move a vote of no confidence on Hon. Theophilus Okoh".

Thereafter, Hon. David Imoloamen, a leader in the ward, seconded the motion, to which there was no dissenting voice.


In an exclusive chat with Esan Magazine, Hon. David Imoloamen, who spoke on his reason for seconding the vote of no confidence motion on Hon. Theophilus Okoh, said; "this party has been on auto pilot for too long, but we now need a leader that can unite all the members and also be accountable to us. We deserve a leader that we can trust and be proud of..."


As at the time of going to Press, attempt to reach Hon. Theophilus Okoh, for him to respond to this development in ward one of Esan Central Local Government Area, was not successful.
