Okaijesan of Esanland Marks 55 Years Coronation Anniversary  ...says leadership is a sacred responsibility. By: Oriaifoh Godwins  The second longest reigning, monarch, and perhaps the oldest in age, in the universe, is perhaps His Royal Highness, Alhaji William Okoeguale Momodu ll, JP, CON, the Okaijesan of Esanland, and the Ogirrua of Irrua kingdom, in Edo state, Nigeria, who on Saturday, the 27th of June, 2026, celebrated his 55th year on the throne of his fore fathers. Born to the family of HRH, Isidahomen II, on the 6th of March, 1930, Alhaji W. O Momodu went through a formal education and became a Nurse that worked briefly in Benin General Hospital, and later with the Mid-western Nigeria Development Corporation at Ewohimi and Igueben. The Okaijesan was coronated as the Ogirrua on the 22nd of June 1971. Momodu II, JP, CON, the Ojirrua of Irrua kingdom, and the Okaijesan of Esanland, a primus inter pares, first among equals, of the Enigie of Esanland, who ascended the throne of his ancestors on the 23rd of June 1971, is 55 years on the throne. O Momodu II, JP, CON, the Ojirrua of Irrua kingdom, and the Okaijesan of Esanland The Ojirrua, whose distinction, wisdom, and leadership set him apart has no doubt contributed to the development of Irrua kingdom in particular, and Esanland in general. In the past 55 years of his reign, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu, a native of Idumebo Community in Irrua kingdom, rose to become the number two man in Nigeria. Esan Central: Community Security Police Apprehends Baby Sellers By: Our Reporter As Security challenges gradually overwhelms the country, Edo state inclusive, the Security Police in Idumebo Community, Irrua, of Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Edo state, on Tuesday 9th of June 2026, apprehended a couple, Monday John and Charity Jacob, both from Benue state, in their attempt to sell a baby girl they stole from the mother who the suspect, (woman) claimed to be her sister. It all started when the couple called someone in Irrua to inform him that they have a baby to sell.
