UZEA Not Marginalized Under Okpebholo Administration

PRESS RELEASE:

UZEA Not Marginalized Under Okpebholo Administration

The people of UZEA and indeed the entire Esan North East can confidently attest that we are not marginalized under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

From the very onset, the Governor demonstrated his appreciation for UZEA. Notably, one of the first road projects in the region was was flagged off in UZEA. Even on the very day of his electoral victory, His Excellency paid homage to our Royal Majesty in recognition of the overwhelming support from our people. One of his first appointment was the appointment of the then acting Chairman of Esan North East Local Government Hon. Paul Ohonmesele from UZEA. All these were doing by his Excellency immediately he was announced the Governor because he appreciated UZEA for our support to him. He never forgot that.

This administration has also ensured fair representation for other UZEA indigenes:

Chief Hon. Robert Okoinemen serves as Chairman of Edo City Transport Service (ECTS).

The outgoing Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Sunday Okoinemen, is from UZEA.

The incoming Vice Chairman, Hon. Raphael, is also from UZEA.

The LGA Chairman, Ward Chairman, and several Senior Special Assistants to the Governor are from UZEA.

Additional appointments have been made, with more expected in due course.

Beyond appointments, we are deeply grateful for ongoing and proposed infrastructure development. The construction of the Ebulen–Ewoiki Road stands as a clear testament to this administration’s commitment to UZEA. Furthermore, the Governor has given assurances for the complete construction of the Ebunle–Ewoiki Road, as well as the strategic linkage of Uro Ugboha.

Considering that His Excellency is still less than two years in office, one must ask: what more do we expect at this stage? In what other ways do we want the Governor to further demonstrate recognition and commitment to UZEA?

Given these undeniable facts, we therefore question the basis of claims of marginalization being circulated by a few individuals seeking political relevance.

As leaders of UZEA, we firmly disassociate ourselves from such conduct and strongly admonish those involved to desist immediately.

It is also important to remind those now crying marginalization that many of them were members of the PDP for eight years. During that period, what tangible influence did they exert in favor of UZEA? They are well aware of how structured and disciplined their former party operates, and such conduct would not have been tolerated there.

Political advancement is not solely determined by individual effort; ultimately, it is God who elevates. Resorting to social media attacks against party leaders and government officials, despite the visible progress being made, reflects poor political judgment and a lack of discipline.

We also caution against the spread of false narratives by political neophytes and opportunists who seek relevance through misinformation. This trend must stop.

It has also come to our attention that some recent entrants into the party, particularly in Ward 6, are laying claim to the Governor’s electoral success. We challenge such individuals to present verifiable evidence of their contributions prior to the election. While ambition is not discouraged, respect for leadership, party structure, and truth remains essential.

We remain deeply grateful to our unit chairmen and grassroots leaders whose collective efforts delivered victory. True party loyalists understand the value of structure, patience, and respect for leadership.

The Governor is part of UZEA and he has taken UZEA as part of his own. It is my request, that UZEA populace should begin to support the Governor holistically by delivery better election result so that all projects promised will be done in no time. So that UZEA will become a city appreciated by others.

As a people, we remain grateful to His Excellency for his recognition and support of UZEA. We reaffirm our loyalty and continued respect for constituted authority and party leadership.

Signed:

Chief Hon. Robert Okoinemenn              On behalf of UZEA Leaders
