By: Our Reporter
On Saturday, 23rd May 2026, Hon. Solomon Agene, a former Councillor of Ward One, in Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state relocated his Party registration from Ward one to Ward 3, Ibhiolulu, of Esan Central Local Government Area, saying; "I am back to my ancestral home".
The ceremony that marked his welcome by the All Progressives Congress, APC, members, executives and leaders of ward 3, started after the conduct of the APC Presidential Primary of the 2027 Presidential election, at the Party's Ward secretariat in Ibhiolulu.
Hon. Obeimen Omoiyebagbe, a former Councillor that represented ward 3, Chief Odalo Goferey, Hon. Felix Ibhade and High Chief Stainless Ijegede, all leaders of the APC in the ward, who all described Hon. Solomon Agene as a strong and quality member of the APC, expressed joy at Hon. Agene's relocation of his party's registration, and voting venue to Ibhiolulu.
Describing the political worth of Hon. Agene, the former Councillor of Ward 3, Hon. Omoiyebagbe explained that, Hon. Agene, was my colleague when I was Councillor; he represented Ward one, when I represented Ward 3; he has given the APC ward 3 secretariat a facelift, by renovating it, provided chairs, tables and other materials for use in the party's secretariat, even as he has mobilised a good number of the Agene family who were before now, voting elsewhere, to relocate their voting venue to this ward.
Speaking on his reason for relocating his registration and voting venue from Ward 1, to Ward 3, Hon. Agene said; "...my emergence as a Ward 1 Councillor, is a testimony of my Political value in that Ward. My mother is from Ward 1, I was born and brought up there; but overtime, I discovered that, the glaring factions in the ward, became unacceptable to me..."
"...when Comrade Oshiomhole was the governor of Edo state, some leaders were always fighting him; it continued during the time of Obaseki, and just a couple of months into Governor Okpebholo's administration, the same pattern, was about rearing its head, hence my decision to relocate to my ancestral home, because I cannot remain and watch anyone fighting my brother, Governor Monday Okpebholo, who is from Uwessan like me".
