Rid Your Communities of Criminal Elements, Esan Central LGA Chairman, Tells Fulani, Hausa Leaders

Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere,, the Chairman Esan Central Local Government Area, has charged the Fulani and Hausa Leaders in Esan Central Local Government Area, to sanitize their environment of all criminal elements living in their midst, saying; "Esan central local government area is known for peace". He added that, the spate of pockets of criminalities being experienced in the local government area in recent time, has been traced to the influx of some criminal elements of fulani tribal extraction.
The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, so charged the leadership of the Hausa/Fulani Community, today Wednesday 22nd April 2026 in a meeting he held with them at the conference hall of the local government council secretariat, in Irrua.
Continuing, Rt. Hon. Iyere, who urged the leaders of the different Hausa/Fulani groups, including Miyetti Allah and Cattle Markets Associations to begin to profile every new comer into their midst, also pointed out that; "this is one of the ways through which they can ensure that, those that are just coming into their midst, are quickly identified before they begin to carry out their criminal activities in the local government.
Responding on behalf of the group, Alhaji Usman Umaru, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Association, in Esan Central Local Government Area, who thanked the Chairman for calling for the meeting, revealed that, they have been doing their best in ensuring that they are not infiltrated by criminals, by issuing identity cards to every of their tribesman resident in the local government, but appealed to the local government authority to also support them in enforcing this gesture, saying; "there are situations where about ten to fifteen persons are seen living in one room, and they do not have the authority to control such, as it is the landlord of such property that has the power to do so.
In his response, the Chairman, advised the group to always report such situations, saying; "...if you see such things, say something".

Pastor Davis Oigbochie, Edoigiawerie Gladys (Esq), the Head of Local Governments Administration, HoLGA, Ogun Rita (Mrs), the Director of Administration and General Services, DAGS.
Leaders of the Arewa Community present, include: Garuba Lawal, Chairman, Ages Cattle Market, Alh. Ado Mohammed, one-time Asst. Chairman, Ahead Cattle Market, AbdulRasaq Mohammed, former Assistant Chairman, Ages Cattle Market and Ahmed Mohammed, Vice Chairman, Idumebo Cattle Market.
