Hon. Chief Robert Okoinemen, aka Oduma Of the Universe, has hailed the governor of Edo state, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo for his foresight, tact and wisdom in the choice of a a Chairman and Vice Chairman hopeful for Esan North East Local Government Area.
High Chief Robert Okoinemen, in his appreciation message, that was made available to newsmen, said; "I wish to use this opportunity to sincerely thank our capable, tactical and all-encompassing Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his steadfast support and emphasis on the importance of UZEA candidacy, as well as for his leadership and clear direction on the matter regarding the zoning of Esan North East Local Government, ENELG, Vice Chairmanship to Uzea".
Continuing, High Chief Okoinemen, who maintained that, he remains a committed party leader who believes firmly in party supremacy and will always abide by the guidance and direction of party leadership, also extended his goodwill and warm regards to Hon. Emmanuel Okoduwa and his group for their thoughtful decision to nominate the Vice Chairman of Esan North East from Uzea in the name of Mr. Raphael Ijekhuemen.
He said; "As the Super Leader of Ward 6, in Esan North East Local Government Area, I extend my appreciation to Hon. Emmanuel Okoduwa for demonstrating true leadership through inclusivity".
"My sincere gratitude goes as well to His Royal Highness for his royal blessing of the nominated Vice Chairman, Raphael Ijekhuemen".
This kind of leadership, High Chief Oduma said, clearly shows that the people of Uromi see Uzea as an integral part of the community. Saying; "We look forward to a continued support, cooperation, and unity from Uromi".
In his message to those that have been engaging in unnecessary arguments on social media, Chief Oduma advised such people to understand that, winning nominations or elections is largely a game of numbers. Adding that, Uromi, by virtue of its population, often holds the advantage, and for an Uzea indigene to emerge in leadership within Esan North East, requires deliberate zoning or strategic negotiation, which according to him, "in this instance, played out successfully, leading to a win-win result".
Chief Okoinemen advised that; "this is why Uzea politicians must consistently embrace the art of negotiation and adopt a cooperative political approach from party leadership to benefit meaningfully from the party’s broader agenda".
"In my opinion, Uzea is gradually building this scenario brick by bricks".
Chief Okoinemen however noted that those who initially opposed the nomination of Raphael Ijekhuemen, and sought to advance their personal interests behind closed doors, have now turned to social media to be the first to offer congratulatory messages. He advised such people to reflect deeply on their actions, as such actions, he said, are synonymous with what he refers to as 'social media banditry'.
Finally,in his words of advice to such people, he said; "'If they want to grow politically, they must understand that leadership demands consistency, loyalty, and sincerity, not opportunism". He said he is giving them this advise because, such opportunistic people, don't remain relevant for too long, as their antics are soon exposed for all to see, because, they can fool some people sometimes, but they can't fool all the people all the time.
