Security Beef-up In Esanland: NSCDC Commissions Divisional Headquarter In Uzea

The people of Uzea, in Esan North East Local Government, ENELG, Area of Edo state, yesterday, February 14th 2026, heaved a sigh of relief, as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, commissioned a divisional headquarters in Olinlin-Uzea, to beef up security against the incessant spate of kidnappings and other related crimes that has been a challenge to the people in the environ.
In his address delivered by the Deputy Commandant of Corps, DCC, O B Morantiola, The state Commandant of the NSCDC, pointed out that the event marks a significant milestone in the collective determination to fight crime, strengthen the security architecture, and deepen community safety in Uzea Kingdom and its environ.
Continuing, the NSCDC Commandant, Edo state Command, said; "... Security is a shared responsibility; and your cooperation has shown that Uzea is a community that values peace, progress, law and order".
Appreciating the Monarch of Uzea he said; "the traditional institutions remains a critical partner in intelligence gathering, conflict resolutions, community mobilization, and crime fighting".
The Edo State Commandant of NSCDC, who urged all the communities in Esan North East local government area to emulate Uzea Kingdom in partnering with NSCDC in building and equipping divisional offices, also assured the people of Uzea that the establishment of the divisional headquarter will significantly improve security presence and response time in the area, as the divisional office will not just be a structure, but a symbol of protection, Justice and service to the people.
Finally he urged everyone that is resident in Uzea to always say something whenever they see something, as security cannot succeed without communities' partnership.
Also the Edo Central NSCDC area Commander, ACC Michael Okwuyenkwu, the Irrua police area Commander, the Irrua Divisional Police Officer, DPO, the Army OC in charge of Uromi and Ekpoma, Major Oguariri, and the Immigration Department, .....Ogala, all delivered their good will messages at the event.
In an exclusive chat with Esan Magazine, Mr. Sylvester Okoh, who resides in the community, thanked all those that facilitated the citing of the NSCDC headquarters in Olinlin-Uzea, saying; "this is the time that all those noise makers and social media commentators that have been pretending to love Uzea more than any other native to come and show solidarity, but most of them are no where to be found today".
Present at the event, are the Onojie of Uzea, HRH, Solomon Iluobe, was represented by his Palace Chiefs, High Chiefs Patrick Odidi, Eniga Moses, Isehihomen Francis, the eldest man in the community, Pa Orukpe Kadiri, the next to him, Pa Oriere Ogbi, and the third most senior man in the community, Chief Pa Dr. Jacob Okojie.
Others include, High Chief Robert Okoinemen, the Chairman Edo City Transport Services, ECTS, Mrs. Amedu Lucy, APC Woman Leader, the former Chairman of Esan North East Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Uhomoesili, the current Vice Chairman of the local government, who represented the Chairman, Mr. James Omoatama, a one time Clerk of the Edo state House of Assembly, the O. C Army in charge of Uromi/Ekpoma, Major E. Oguariri, the Irrua Police Area Commander, ACP Benjamin Benafa, Irrua Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP J. O Emmanuel, Head of DSS, Esan Central Local Government Area, E.O Oshita, the Head of Immigration Department, Esan Central, Mr. Ogah, and a host of others.
