The four days events to mark the celebration of life of Princess Asetu Iwelomen, Nee Ebhabha of Ivue-Uromi, started today Wednesday 28th January 2026, with Service of Songs that held at her compound in Ivue-Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo state, where members of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, as well as well-wishers of the family from within and outside Edo state, were present to grace the event.

Reverend Father Jonathan Ibeawuchi, the Parish Priest of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ivue, and Rev. Fr. Paul Akhere Idiahe, officiated the Mass.

In his homily Reverend Father Jonathan Idiahe, who described late Princess Asetu Iwelomen as a peaceful woman who knows how to resolve issues, also said; "...whenever the Reverend Father came to give her communion, at a time when she was no longer able to attend church, her reverence and composure gave her away as a true Catholic to the core". Rev. Fr. Idiahe also added that; "... the way her children sang Catholic songs when I went to their home to bless their home, and the vibe that followed, I concluded expressly that this family is truly a Catholic family".

"It is a good thing that Mama lived well. That is the most important thing. A life without Christ, is a wasted life. Our mother did not die, she is with the Lord. I know more about mama, hence I am able to talk more about her".
