Let's Support Gov. Okpebholo's Efforts

... Esan Central LG Boss calls as he lays foundation stone

The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, has called on the people of Esan Central Local Government Area in particular, and the people of Edo state in general, to support the efforts of Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in creating a new Edo State of our dreams, saying; "... what people benefit from the government, which the governor is working assiduously to provide for the people of Edo State, is the beauty of democracy".


Rt. Hon. Iyere made this plea today, Tuesday, 20th January 2026 in Ugbokhare, Ward 4, of Esan Central Local Government Area, where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of a perimeter fence and a Security Post for Ugbokhare Primary School.

Continuing, Rt. Hon. Iyere who said, he has been in office as the Chairman of the local government for one year now, also added that, in the past one year, he has been able to do one project or the other, in virtually all the Wards in Esan Central, saying, people oriented projects has been earmarked for the Wards that are yet to be imparted on.

The project of the remodeling of Ugbokhare Primary School, started on Friday the 9th of January 2026, as heavy duty machines were seen at the premises of the primary school doing the preliminary works.


In an exclusive chat with Esan Magazine, Rt. Hon. Iyere made it clear that the essence of governance is to provide enabling environment for the people to thrive adding that, the people's expectations are very high. He said; "...as a political representative of the people of Esan Central Local Government area, I know that the expectations of my people on me, are very high, especially bearing in mind that, before this dispensation, our people suffered heavily as we were seriously marginalized; today however, we are doing everything we can do, to ensure that those wasted years are restored; so that our people can smile again".

"... If you watch closely, and have been following the trend of events in Edo state, you will also realize that our governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is equally doing same, to ensure that a lot is done to at least, restore the wasted 8 years".


"I guess you are aware that our governor is building new modern market stores inside Irrua market, and we have in the past two weeks been working very hard to create a temporary marketplace in Idumu-Eguare, by Agric Junction, for our market men and women;  and now, this Ugbokhare Primary School project".


"There are many more projects to come. They have been pencilled down. We will continue to execute them one at a time. By the grace of God, all the Wards in Esan central local government area, will benefit from the dividends of democracy of this administration". The local government area Chairman said.


It will be recalled that, Rt. Hon. Iyere, had executed projects in Opoji, Eidenu, Agua, Ibhiolulu, Ikekato and in Eguare-Irrua, just as he earlier this month, visited the Eguare Health centre to ascertain the state of the facility, with the aim of doing the needful in remodeling it.
