 No, We Don’t Know Marcus Onobun, People Of Ward 1, Esan Central Declares

…as they call on Eseigbe to run

On Sunday, 14th of December, 2025, the people of Ward one in Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state, have unequivocally called on Hon. Lucky Eseigbe, the Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development to run for the member to represent Esan central/Esan west/Igueben Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as they declared that they don’t know Marcus Onobun, the person that is currently occupying the office, neither does Onobun know them.


Addressing the  mammoth crowd from Ibore, Ugbalo, and Atuagbo, that gathered at the residence of Hon. Felix Osaro, in Ibore, Esan central local government area, to call for Hon. Eseigbe to contest for the position, Hon. Osaro said; “… I am not contesting for any position, but I am not going to support somebody like Marcus Onobun that plays politics of retrogression. If Marcus cannot tell us what he has done in our Ward, in the past close to 4 years now, that he has been in the House of Representatives, then he cannot get our support”.


“Do you know Marcus Onobun“? He asked, and the crowd chorused; “No”. If so, Hon. Osaro replied, “we cannot support him for anything, since he does not know us, neither do we know him”. 


“Today, Marcus Onobun cannot point to anything he has done for the people of Ward 1, but we supported him when he was contesting for the position, and today, we regret supporting him.”

Continuing, Hon. Osaro said, Eseigbe worked with Hon. Patrick Ikhariale in the House of Representatives, he was the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and today, he is the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development. Such a person With a wide range of experience is definitely suitable to represent us in the House of Representatives.


Finally, Hon. Felix  Osaro, advised all those that for one reason or the other, do not have a voters card to register their names, saying in due course, he will arrange for a vehicle to convey them to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Irrua, to obtain their votes card.


Present at the gathering, include; High Chief Lucky Igenegbale, CSP Ogah, Rtd, Hon. Chris Abhulimen, all of them, All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders in Ward 1, Hon. Efojie Blessed, Hon. Kadiri Jude and Mrs. Okoh Margret, the APC Financial Secretary, Assistant Youth Leader and woman Leader, respectively. Others, include; Igegele Innocent, Leader, Physically Challenged, Agene Osemudiamen, and Akhabue Dora, both Ex-officials, and a host of several others.
