Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere: A Unique Pacesetter in The History Of Esan Central Administration

Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere: A Unique Pacesetter in The History Of Esan Central Administration

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

In the ever-evolving landscape of Edo State politics and community development, few names shine as brightly as that of Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere, despite his quiet but steady exploits in his deliveries of dividends of democracy to the people of Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area.

His emergence as a transformative Chairman in Esan Central Local Government Area, has not only redefined public service but has also rekindled hope among the people for a new era of progressive leadership; his emergence has rekindled hope, in the sense that, Rt. Hon. Iyere has successfully raised the bar, with respect to the expectations of the people of the local government area from their Political representatives.

A Trailblazer with Purpose

Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere’s leadership style embodies innovation, inclusivity, and integrity. This can be deduced from the fact that, in less than a year of his administration, the IMPOSING STRUCTURE of 50 blocks of lockup stores in Irrua market, directly facing the road, as well as another block of 5 lockup stores inside the market, is a "woooow" for the people of Esan Central Local Government Area.

From the onset of his political journey, he has demonstrated a rare blend of humility and boldness—traits that have distinguished him as a pacesetter among his contemporaries. Whether in the legislative chambers or grassroots engagements, his actions consistently reflect a deep-seated commitment to advancing the welfare of his people.

In one of his exclusive interviews with Winning Media Online, Rt. Hon. Iyere, said; "... delivering maximum dividends to a greater number of people in my constituency, is my utmost priority".

Born and bred in Esan land, Rt. Hon. Iyere understands the aspirations and challenges of his constituency. His ability to connect with the people, has made him not only a political figure but a symbol of accessibility and genuine service.

Driving Development Through Vision

Under his stewardship, Esan Central has witnessed renewed momentum in community-driven projects and people-oriented initiatives. Rt. Hon. Iyere has championed causes that improve Infrastructure, Education and Healthcare. His pragmatic approach to governance ensures that every policy or initiative is backed by tangible impact.

Wait a minute: under Education, the new block of six Classrooms in Eguare Primary School, Opoji, the construction of a perimeter fencing of the Agua Primary School, the remodeling of the block of six classrooms in Afuda Primary School, and the building of staff quarters for teachers at Ibhiolulu Primary School, amongst others, are clear examples. In HEALTH, the remodelling of Eidenu Health center, and the construction of a perimeter fence with a security guard post, comes to mind, even as plans are ongoing to make part of the Health center a Tradomedical Practitioning Centre; and under INFRASTRUCTURE, of course, he started by regularly evacuating refuse sites in Irrua, Ewu Eidenu, and other areas, even as he embarked on replacement of damaged electricity poles in Ekonojoboh, Ugbakha quarter, Ekonokhuo quarters, Udowo amongst other areas. Again, the construction of the lockup stores, in Irrua market, as earlier pointed out, also comes to mind.

Integrity and Service Above Politics

What sets Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere apart, is his unwavering commitment to ethical leadership. In an era when politics is often marred by self interest, 'using and dumping people', puffing of empty ego, Rt. Hon. Iyere has remained a shining example of accountability, transparency and due process. His decisions are guided, not by personal gains, but by a genuine desire to serve, protect, and uplift his people. I am not just saying this; I have witnessed where he personally ensured that some items that were shared to widows were fairly shared under a transparent process, even when some persons were trying to cut corners. I also witnessed same action from him under similar circumstances.

Colleagues and constituents alike describe him as a man of his words. He will rather not promise you, than to promise, raise your hopes and then fail, like some so called 'politicians' do.

When he was a Councilor that represented Ward 4, of Esan Central Local Government Area, his legislative engagements reflect depth, foresight, and a dedication to policy formulation that strengthens democratic institutions at the local and state levels.

Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere represents the embodiment of purposeful leadership—driven by vision, guided by integrity, and fueled by an unrelenting passion for community development. His remarkable journey serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder that true leadership is not about power, but about service.

As Esan Central continues to experience progress under his leadership and influence, one thing is clear: Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere stands not only as an UNCOMMON CHAIRMAN, but also as a pacesetter, whose actions inspire transformation and whose legacy continues to shape the future of his people. Esan Central Local Government Area, definitely need more of people like this UNCOMMON CHAIRMAN, for the local government area to RISE as a NEW EDO STATE IS RISING.
