Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise Holds In Esan Central

….as LG Chairman charge residents to always comply.

Again today, Saturday, 25 October 2025 the last Saturday of October. The monthly sanitation exercise was observed in central government area as authorities from Esan Central local government  area Council, led by the Chairman, as well as security agents were on ground to supervise the exercise. 

The Chairman of the local government area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, who went round the local government area to as usual,  inspect the level of compliance, expressed satisfaction, but maintained that, “…there is room for improvement”.


Speaking, Rt. Hon. Iyere said; “…yes, our people are complying with the monthly environmental exercise, but there still exit a lot of room for improvement”.


“For example, some people are taking the period of the exercise to stay at home doing nothing, and waiting for the exercise to end, so they can come out. This is not the reason for the exercise”. 


“The period of time that the exercise last for, is not a stay-at-home period. It is meant for people to clean up their environments”. Rt. Hon. Iyere said.


The Chairman, Esan central local government area, however, used the opportunity to appeal to all the indigene as well as everyone resident in Esan central local government area, to ensure that they key into the main reason behind the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, saying; “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.


Other top officials of Esan central local government area that also joined in the monitoring of today’s environmental sanitation exercise, include the Head of Department of Environment, Sanitarian Christiana Akhere Egbele, the Secretary to the Local Government area, Deacons Davies Oigbochie, the Director of Services,……..the Head of Procurement, the Head of Department, Legal, Barr. Ehizoyanyan, the Head of Revenue Department, amongst others.
