Esan Central Ward 6: Hon. Iyasele Calls On APC Leaders, Women, Youths To Prevail
By: Our Correspondent
My Ward and community has been marginalized for too long a time, and now, we have decided to take our fate in our own hands to demand for what is rightly ours. We cannot continue to beg for what is ours and wait for eternity.
Above, are the words of Hon. Clement Iyasele, the Councilor aspirant for Ward 6, in Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, who is drawing the attention of the entire leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Esan Central local government area, to the emasculation and Political marginalization of Idumabi, his community over the years.
Hon. Iyasele made this revelation in a phone interview with Esan Magazine, today, Friday 24th October 2025.
According to Hon. Iyasele; "... somebody in Ward 6, is trying to again, tactically scheme my community out of contesting for the Councilor of my Ward by using a Greek gift of a few months' political appointment as an excuse. Whereas, over the years, my community never benefitted anything, either from physical infrastructure or appointments, and now that the Councilorship position is available to be contested for, somebody is coming up with some old excuse they have always been using... this time around, it won't work".
"I want to use this opportunity to call on all our leaders to prevail on this situation. We should be reminded that, Nigerians cried out that, the South should produce the Presidency, and we got it. In Edo state, we the Esan tribe, appealed to the rest of the people of the state, for them to support us for the position of the governor they did, and we got the governorship position. Now the people of Idumabi, are appealing to everyone that, it is our turn to occupy the position of the Councilor of Ward 6, and our case shouldn't be different".
Hon. Iyasele's argument and claims was also attested to by a very prominent leader in Ward 6 of Esan Central Local Government Area, who does not want his name in print. He said; "... Yes the people of Idumabi have been neglected for a long time. The last time Idumabi occupied the position of the Councilor, was about 15 years ago. Usugbenu occupied it for 4 years, then Idumabokhai was there, after which Idumebo occupied the position; and now, it is the turn of Idumabi to hold the position of the Councilor of Ward 6. No man should try to be smart here. Idumabi will not take it again".
"Those that think they are smart, tried it before, where did it lead them to? You cannot continue to think you are smart, and every other person is stupid. We will vehemently resist him". He concluded
