To Ensure Self Reliance in Food Production, Governor Okpebholo Holds Farmers In High Esteem

The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, yesterday, Thursday 31st August 2025, commended Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his relentless efforts in ensuring self reliance in food production in the local government area, saying; "... for the passion the governor has for ensuring self reliance in terms of food production in Edo state, Governor Okpebholo, holds farmers In high esteem..."

"This gesture by Governor Okpebholo, shows the extent of commitment of Edo state governor to agricultural development, as it brought immense relief to the people, particularly the farmers in Udomi Community and it's environ".


The Chairman made this remarks in an exclusive chat with Winning Media Online, after presenting, farm inputs including 

Tricycles, Cassava Grinding Machines, fertilizers and others to the Fadama Farmers in Udomi, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo state.


Addressing the mammoth crowd, before the formal presentation, Rt. Hon. Iyere, said; "Our Governor, His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, is empowering our farmers to enhance productivity. These donations and support from the governor, are not for sale, they are meant to support you, so your farm outputs can be boosted".


Continuing, the Chairman said; "... I am happy something like this is happening during my administration. Agriculture forms the bedrock of every society and in line with Senator Okpebholo's renew hope agenda A lot has been put into agriculture just as the security architecture has been rebranded to ensure that our farmers are safe on their farmlands he urged beneficiaries to put the donated farm inputs, in the right to use.
