Publisher, Esan Magazine Is One Year Older

Today, 13th August 2025, the Publisher of Esan Magazine and The Correspondent Newspapers, Comrade Peter Odia Iwelomen, is one year older.

Comrade Iwelomen, a perfect gentleman, and the visionary who saw the future of Esan Magazine, a Community Newspaper that started publication in the defunct Bendel State, to give voice to Esan people and mobilise them for the development of Esanland, from the beginning, when the Magazine was floated, is a trail blazer.

Over the years he has used Esan Magazine Editorials to highlight the challenges confronting Esan people and Esanland. Esan Magazine has also created contents that challenged Esan people both at home and in the Diaspora on the need to develop Esanland, assist one another to develop and attain their full potentials.

Comrade Peter Iwelomen, has also been able to use Esan Magazine to mobilise Esan people to use the magazine as a platform for playing crucial roles in promoting political awareness and participation among Esan people, both at home and in the Diaspora, by deploying that platform for political discourse, highlighting key policy issues and profiling community leaders and holding Esan political office holders accountable to the people, thus assisting to attract development to Esan communities.

In his realisation that Esanland cannot be developed in exclusion of its neighbours, Iwelomen again established The Correspondent Newspapers to enable him contribute to the development of Edo State using the media.

As he celebrates his Birthday today, it is a thing of joy that Iwelomen has contributed to the development of Esanland and Edo State.
This year’s celebration is significant because the election of an Edo Governor of Esan extraction which Esan Magazine has been championing over the years is now a reality.

Though, the political class may not celebrate you, the masses which yours sincerely belong, acknowledge your contribution to the development of Esanland and the overall well-being of our society and celebrate you most profoundly.

I join in celebrating you on this auspicious occasion of your birthday anniversary.
Congratulations to you. May God imbue you with good health of body and mind, and many more years ahead to continue your contributions to the upliftment of mankind.

Edo State Security Corps To Profile, Document Members - Coordinator  The Coordinator of Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), retired Commissioner of Police Friday Ibadin has urged personnel of the defunct Edo State Security Network now ESSC to make themselves available for profiling.
