High Chief Ekeoba, Celebrates Life Of Mum-Inlaw
...says, she was a mother indeed

High Chief Chris Ekeoba, the Chief Executive Officer of Grace Hotels and Suites, Irrua, in Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state, on Saturday 9th of August 2025, hosted his friends and family members that came from far and near, to a grand reception, in honour of Madam Catherine Oiyehi Eimunjeze Nee Ojomon, of Idumu Akhibi Royal lineage in Ebhebe-Ebhoiyi, Uromi, Esan North East Local Government area of Edo state.
The reception, held at the the Esan North East Local Government Area playfield, in Uromi.
The four days events that marked the burial ceremony of late Madam Catherine Eimunjeze, started on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025, when a Requiem Mass was held for her at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, and on Thursday, August 7, 2025, Service of Songs was held in her honour at St. Anthony's Cathedral Uromi, as the funeral service held at the same Church the following day, Friday 8th August 2025, after which interment followed.
In an exclusive chat with Esan Magazine, High Chief Chris Ekeoba, one of the son in-law to late Madam Catherine Eimunjeze, described her as "...a mother indeed". Saying; "my mother in-law, is a mother that is worth celebrating. I celebrated her when she was alive, and now that she has gone to where we will all surely go someday, I have nothing to say, other than to give thanks to God Almighty, for the life she lived. She was a mother indeed".
Continuing, High Chief Ekeoba who described his late mother in-law as a devout Christian, of the Catholic denomination, concluded by saying;"...she treated me like her biological son, not a son in-law. We were that close. I miss her dearly".
Also, Chief (Mrs) Esther Ekeoba, late Madam Eimunjeze's second daughter and Chief Ekeoba's wife, described her late Mother, as one who does not discriminate, saying; "...she always made impacts on everyone that came in contact with her, not just her biological children. She was a devout Catholic to the core".
"She was a great giver; she feared God and feared evil. I will miss her companionship the most. I will miss her advice and words of wisdom..."
"Her demise has created a great vacuum...."
Asked if she has the capacity and wherewithal to fill the vacuum created by the death of her mother she said; "when she was alive, we imbibed most of her virtues, because, we saw, through the life she lived, that, being good, pays. We saw the grace of God upon her life...she duplicated herself in her children".
Also, in her tribute to her late Mother, the eldest daughter, Madam Felicia Ebhohimen described her as a colossus that stood tall, even in the midst of storms saying, her mother was courageous, selfless, caring, dependable, diligent, and a councillor, a peacemaker, that offered wisdom, comfort and calm in moments of doubts, fear and confusion.
Mrs. Emmanuella Nweze, another of her daughter, who described her mother as "the beautiful and blessed one", said her mother lived an exemplary life, and she will forever be proud and grateful that late Madam Eimunjeze was her, her "Mummy Blosh".
High Chief Isaac Ekeoba, the eldest man in the Idumebo Community, Irrua, an elder brother to Chief Chris, described the late Madam Eimunjeze as a wonderful woman. Saying; "we married her daughter. She was a wonderful inlaw".
"We will miss her warmth, her love, cheers and all. I don't really know how well to represent her, but she is always very homely with her in-laws. If my wife was to say anything about her too, these are exactly what she will say. She was a good Christian who was well known in St. Anthony's, Uromi. We will miss her a great deal".
Also, speaking about the person of Madam Catherine Eimunjeze, Barr. Johnson Erewele, said; "she was our inlaw, and I must confess, she is a good woman and a lovely inlaw.
Madam Catherine Eimunjeze's solid roots in Catholic faith is not in doubt, going by the array of branches of Catholic organizations that expressed 'torrents' of condolences to the family, including; Ladies of Saint Mulumba, Central District sub-Council, St. Patrick Edo-Delta Catholic Community, St. Mary Catholic Church, Karu, Abuja, and Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja.
Others include, Holy Rosary Catholic Parish, Catholic Women Organization, CWO, Archdiocese of Abuja, and the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria.
Late Madam Catherine Eimunjeze is survived by seven Children, including Mrs Felicia Ebhohimen, Chief (Mrs.) Esther Ekeoba, Mrs Philo Osezuah, Mrs. Ehi Rafiu, Mrs. Loveth Ebube, Mrs. Ella Nweze, Engr. Paul Eimunjeze and grandchildren.
