What Exactly Makes Esan Central Local Government Chairman An Uncommon Chairman?

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

From the inception of the administration of governor Monday Okpebholo, Edo state has been progressing both in physical structures and implementations of people oriented policies that has been adding great values to the lives of the people of Edo state.

In view of the above, the Chairman of Esan  central local government area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, copied from the practical governance style of Governor Monday Okpebholo, and the people of Esan central local government area have therefore nicknamed him the UNCOMMON CHAIRMAN.

Esan Central LG Boss, laying the foundation for the building of six blocks of classrooms and a Headmaster's office in Eguare-Opoji.

The loaded scorecard of Hon. Iyere, in less than six months of his being in office as the Chairman of the local government, is not a surprise, as he always have it at the back of his mind that, as the Chairman of the local government area that the governor of Edo state hails from, he must show exemplary governance style for other local government areas to copy from, and Rt. Hon. Iyere has been effectively doing so.

PROJECTS SO FAR EXECUTED:

✓Remodelling of Eidenu Health Centre, with the construction of a perimeter fence (ongoing)

✓ Building of 50 lock up stores in Irrua Market (ongoing)

✓The renovation and replacement of falling electricity poles in Eidenu -Irrua,

✓ The laying of foundation stone for the construction of six blocks of classrooms, and a headmaster’s office in Opoji.(construction, ongoing)

✓The renovation of the Agua junction-Esan Central council road, that was hitherto, impassable. (ongoing).

✓ Building of Staff Quarters in Ujabhole Primary School (ongoing)

✓ Construction of Perimeter fence with Security Post in Agua Primary School (ongoing)

In spite of all the above projects. The chairman has repeatedly emphasised that with respect to cleanliness, Esan Central local government area will definitely be the local government to beat in Edo state. In demonstrating this, the Chairman started the environmental sanitation exercise in Esan Central, long before it was declared as a state wide exercise by Edo state government.

The, the regular evacuation of the refuse that constantly accumulate in Irrua market, as well as the one at Idumebo, by the highway, the facilitation of free eye test and treatment to the people of the local government, to mention a few, are also interventions that the UNCOMMON CHAIRMAN has imparted on Esan central local government area.

Like some other local government areas in Edo state, Esan Central has experienced a number of chairmen that had nothing to show as their legacy but this UNCOMMON CHAIRMAN, is definitely changing the story from the old order.
