Esan Central LG Boss Lays Foundation Stone For Building Classrooms In Opoji

Today Monday the 16th of June 2025, the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, laid the foundation stone for the building of a block of six classrooms and a headmaster's office in Eguare-Opoji, Primary School.
The Chairman, who after laying the foundation stone, explained that the project was necessitated by the fact that the former structure was an eyesore, as such, had to be demolished for a new structure to be put in place.
Rt. Hon. Iyere said; "...we are here to lay the foundation stone for the building of six blocks of çlass rooms. It is unacceptable for our children to be studying in dilapidated structures. We are committed to ensuring that we leave enviable legacies that can be built upon, hence take Esan Central to an enviable local government, just as we are noting other areas that require intervention, and of course, we are prioritizing.
Two Chiefs from Opoji Kingdom, Chief Oleare, and Chief Abumere as well as Councilor representing Ward 9, and Hon. Ehis Arebamen, an All Progressives Congress, APC, Leader in Opoji, all expressed their appreciation to the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government for the laudable project.
Speaking, Hon. Ehis Arebamen, who pointed out that, in the past eighteen years, Opoji has never experienced the citing of any project from the government, adding that, Rt. Hon. Iyere, Ainiyalenhimi, the Chairman of the local government, is truly a friendly and an uncommon Chairman. He thanked the Chairman for the project, and also added that; "like Oliver Twist, we are also using this opportunity to draw the attention of the Chairman to our Market, that is currently in a bad state". Hon. Arebamen, concluded by expressing to the Chairman, appreciation from Rt. Hon. Patrick Ikhariale, an indegene of Opoji, a one time member of the National Assembly, who represented Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal constituency, who he said, would have been present at the event, but was unavoidably absent.
Hon. Etuite Edosa, who thanked the Chairman for the the project, also added his voice to what Leader Arebamen said, saying; "while appreciating the Chairman for this very laudable project, I am making a special appeal to him, to help is in the renovation of Opoji market. Our mothers will definitely appreciate it".
Also present with the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, at the foundation laying ceremony, are Hon. Kelvin Okpiahior Abhulimen, Councilor representing Ward 1, Hon. George Washington Egbele, representing Ward 5, and Hon. Onoigboria Isaac Councilor representing Ward 8, others include, Hon. Davies OigbochietheSecretary to the local government, Hon. Sylvester Edopkiawe, the Special Adviser to the local government and Mr. Earnest Erebholo, the Head of Local Government Area, HOLGA.
It can be recalled that, blocks of classrooms had earlier been earmarked for renovation at Afuda Primary School in Ward 2 of Esan Central local government, just as the renovation of the Health center with the construction of a perimeter fence, in Eidenu, Ward 4 is currently ongoing.
