Two Palace Chiefs Suspended In Irrua Kingdom For Causing Divisions In Community

The Jotorfure of Irrua Kingdom, Chief Joseph Uwadiale, aka Federal, and Chief Bright Ukhurefuamen, the Efua of Irrua Kingdom, both from Ibhiolulu, in Esan Central Local Government Area, were on Saturday, 3rd of May 2025, suspended from being Palace Chiefs of Irrua Kingdom, for attempting to cause division amongst the people of Ibhiolulu community of Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state.

Speaking, High Chief Stainless Ijeghede, who brought the matter before the Irrua Palace, gave a long synopsis of how some people, including the two suspended palace Chiefs, in Ibhiolulu, ordered that no indigene of the community should attend the reception organized by Governor Monday Okpebholo that held in Udomi on the 20th of April 2025, and that anyone that flouted the order, will be ostracized in the community.


According to the suspended Chiefs, they gave the order because, items sent to the community from the state governor, never get to the people, but are shared amongst a few people.


To forestall the brewing acrimony, and appease the aggrieved elders, one of the indigenes of Ibhiolulu, provided the community with a cow and and #5M, five million naira, the money was shared by a few of them, while several other people were not considered.


Delivering judgement, through Chief Abudu Ugbesia, JP, his spokesperson for that purpose, the Okaijesan of Esanland and the Ojirrua of Irrua, Alhaji W. O Momodu II, JP CON, thanked High Chief Stainless Ijeghede for promptly coming to the Palace to report the issue, saying; "the people of Ibhiolulu should begin to live together as one family. No one, for whatever reason should again, give any order for people not to attend the reception organized by Governor Monday Okpebholo". The Okaijesan added that, gift items meant for party men, women and youths, are different from items meant for the elders and the community as a whole.


The two Chiefs that masterminded the feud, were thereafter, asked to refund the five million naira and also provide a cow they wrongly shared, and were immediately suspended from being Palace Chiefs.
