Quintessential University Administrator, Retires, Launches Book, Celebrates Birthday

It was a triple celebration on Saturday,19th April 2025, at the Ambrose Alli Hall, Ekpoma, when the immediate past Acting Registrar and the former Principal Officer of Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma, Comrade Ambrose Odiase, celebrated his retirement from the University in a grand style, as he launched a book, titled; "In the Eye of the Storm- Compendium: Memoirs of a Comrade University Principal Officer", written by him, and also celebrated his birthday anniversary.

The ceremony, which witnessed great personalities in attendance, was one of the major events hosted by a past principal officer of the University in recent time.

The Chairman of the ceremony, Sir. Dr. Pascal Isele,KSJI, the immediate past President, Annunciation Catholic College, Irrua, Old Boys Association, ACCIOBA, represented by Prof. Omi Ujuanbi, Director, Directorate of Research, Publication and Development, AAUE, extolled the steeling qualities of Comr. Odiase during his career in the university as well as his activities in the Association and wished him well in his future endeavours. 

The Chief Host, Prof. S.O. Samuel, Acting Vice Chancellor, AAUE, thanked Comr. Odiase, for all the services rendered during his active service in the University and wished him good health and prosperity as he entered the next phase of his life.


The Acting Registrar, Mr. E. I. Isiraojie, ably represented by Barr. V. Inegbedion, Deputy Director, Legal Unit, AAUE, described Comr. Odiase as an astute administrator whose mastery of the registry took him to the zenith of his career. 

There were goodwill messages from invited guests, friends, and well wishers. The Royal Father of the Day, HRH, Alhaji Momodu II, the Okaijesan of Esan land, the Ojirrua of Irrua, was ably represented by High Chief Chris Igene, the Enakhe of Irrua Kingdom, in company of two other titled and respected High Chiefs from the Palace.

The highlight of the event was the official launching of his book, titled: In the Eye of the Storm- Compendium: Memoirs of a Comrade University Principal Officer and the presentation of souvenirs to the celebrant by the Acting Registrar and Deputy Registrar, the Administrative Assistant in the Registry, AAU, amongst others.

Members of the University Community, including Prof. S.O. Samuel, that Acting Vice Chancellor, AAU, Ekpoma, Professor Ugbesia Igene, of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Omi Ujuambi,  and a host of others, including, Comrade Odiase's immediate and extended family members, friends, and well wishers, attended the colourful ceremony.
