… as Leader assures of a speedy passage.

The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyelenhimi, today Thursday, 17th April 2025, presented to the Legislative arm of the Council, the 2025 Budget estimate tagged Budget of A New Beginning.



Presenting the 2025 budget to Esan Central Local Government Legislative Arm, the Chairman said; “ I want to inform this honorable House that, this year’s budget estimate, christened budget of a new beginning, was done in line with the extant rules governing estimate preparation.


“In preparing this draft estimate, the desire and urgent need to make landmark statement in terms of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Esan Central Local Government Area, that speaks to the very essence of good governance and positive impact on the people’s lives, was the propelling force”.

Continuing the Chairman, who emphasized that Esan central local government area occupies an enviable position in Edo state, being the home local government area of the Governor of Edo state, cannot afford to lag behind, but compliment the efforts of Governor Monday Okpebholo in his developmental agenda.


The Esan Central Local Government Area, 2025 Budget of a New Beginning,  totalling, Six Billion, Seven Hundred and Thirty-Nine Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Four Thousand, Six Hundred and Thirteen Naira, Twenty-Six Kobo (N6, 739,894,613.26k), comprises share of statutory allocation, share of VAT, Capital Development Fund, Share of Electronic Money Transfer, Non-Oil, Solid Mineral Exchange Gain, and the internally generated Revenue (IGR) components. 

Other components of the budget include; compulsory deduction/primary School Teachers, Financial charges, personnel costs, statutory office holders salaries, social benefits, overhead cost and capital expenditure for Admin Sector, Economic Sector, Law and Justice Sector, and social sector.





The Chairman, in the course of the presentation of the budget also appreciated the cordial relationship existing between the Legislative Council and Executive Arm in moving the local government forward, saying, “there has been no friction between the two arms since his assumption of office “.  In like manner, he thanked the management team and staff of the local government who have displayed high level of support through their dedication and commitment to work, urging them to keep up their good work.



Finally, the Chairman thanked the Royal Fathers, party leaders and the good people of the local government area for providing his administration with the enabling environment to govern.


Responding, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Famous Aihinoria Ebanehita, who assured the Chairman that the budget will be properly looked into, to meet the needs of the people, said; "...on behalf of my colleagues, I want to assure you that the budget will be passed, and speedily too".
