The Governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has been described as a governor with listening ears, who is poised at putting right so many wrongs in Esanland, and Edo state, as several issues that the people of the state have been complaining about, including the bad Benin/Auchi road, Cultism, kidnappings and others are being attended to by his practical governing style.
The Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, High Chief Dr. Abudu Ugbesia, JP, so described Governor Monday Okpebholo during a meeting of the executive members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in ward one, as well as the members of executive of the various units of the ward, that held in his residence on Sunday, 9th March 2025.
In his address during the meeting, Chief Ugbesia who commended all the executive members of the ward, as well as those of the various units in the ward for their steadfastness, resilience and faith in the party over the years, also advised them not to allow anyone in the ward, or outside the ward, to deceive them into joining any faction, saying; "the All Progressive Congress in ward one, is one strong and united family, and that is how it has been over the years, it is too late to allow anyone to create any form of division in this ward".
Chief Ugbesia, also announced that, a proposal to Edo state governor, for the transformation of Uneah Secondary School, to a Model school, is also underway.
The Leadership of the party in the ward, also used the opportunity to replace some unserious members of executive in some units of the ward, precisely in units two, and twelve, as the Leadership was not satisfied with the way they carried out their responsibilities as members of executive in their units. In view of this, a new Chairman, Secretary and Youth leader emerged in unit two.
Also, during the meeting, the issue of #80M, eighty million naira, an amount that was released by the immediate past governor of Edo state to support farmers in ward one, that never got to the farmers, but was shared by a few persons also came up, and the leadership of the party resolved to investigate more on it with a view to expose the culprits.
Also present in the meeting, include, Dr. S.O Oriaifo, the Secretary, Mr. Andrew Ulikhifoh, a Leader in the ward, Professor Harry Isitekhale, CSP Tony Ogah, Rtd, all the unit executives, and a host of others.

Kudos to our governor for keeping to his promises. Thank you for this appointment and regards for Ward 1.
