Nigerian Red Cross Society, Pays Courtesy Visit To Esan Central LG Boss

Today, Friday 14th March 2025, the members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Esan Central division, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyelenhimi at the local government Secretariat Council, Irrua, to formally Congratulate him on his emergence as the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area and to formally inform him of the conduct of the election for new executive members of their organization, as the tenure of the former executive members has since ended.
Speaking, the spokesperson for the group, Mr. Wilson Ekhomogiaun, who is also the Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, in Edo state, said; "...on behalf of the entire members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Edo state, I want to congratulate you on your emergence as the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, and we pray that this position will be a stepping stone to higher positions for you, in future.
"By virtue of the fact that, you are the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government area, whether you have been ceremoniously invested as the patron of the Red Cross Society in the local government area, or not, the Chairman of the local government is the patron of our Organization."
He continued by saying; "the Nigerian Red Cross Society, is a voluntary organization that caters for the needy and vulnerable people in the society, that are present in both the rural and urban areas".
Mr. Wilson said, the Red Cross Society is standing on four pillars, that include Health and Care, Disaster Management and Response, Organisational Development amongst others.
He mentioned some areas where the Red Cross Society, Edo State Branch, have intervened in the past, to include, Ikpoba Okha, and Ovia North East, Esan West, Esan North East, Etsako West Local Government areas of Edo state.
Mr. Wilson also informed the Chairman that, the Red Cross Society, Edo state Branch, also embarks in the training of young people in becoming better adults, as such, the Society takes advocacy activities to the schools with the aim of 'catching them young'.
Responding, the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Iyere who appreciated their good will messages and prayers, also thanked them for their visit, saying, they are always welcome to the local government, as he wished them a successful conduct of the election of their members of executive.
