High Chief Okodogbe Distributes Educational Materials To Pupils As School Holds Inter House Sport Competition

On Thursday, 13th March 2025, High Chief Henry Okodogbe, the Ojiemudiamen of Irrua Kingdom and the Omotor of Oghara kingdom, was one of the eminent guests present at the Agua Primary School third inter house sport athletics competition of the school, that held at the school play field in Agua-Irrua, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area of Edo state, where he distributed educational materials to the Pupils of the school to encourage them in sports and academic activities.
Speaking, Chief Okodogbe, who is also the patron of Blue House, one of the Houses that participated in the competition, revealed to Winning Media Online, that it is a yearly endeavor for him, saying; "for me, this is a yearly gesture. I am an indigene of this village, even though, I didn't attend this school, I see it as a responsibility to do the little I can do to support academic and extracurricular activities in this school.
"Little gestures like this, can go a long way in encouraging our children". He said.
Responding to questions on the effort the community, and other public spirited indigenes of Agua community are making to help in the rehabilitation of the ramshackle block of classrooms that has long since been abandoned, Chief Okodogbe, responded that, the school is not a community school, but a government school, and that individuals may not have the financial muscle to fix the building; but added that; "thankfully, Governor Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo state, has expressed interest in coming to the rescue, and hopefully too, there will also be an intervention from Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun, the member representing Esan Central/Esan west/Igueben Federal constituency, at the National Assembly".
The track events that came up during the competition, include 400, 100, 50 metres races Relay race, fill in the basket, old students' race amongst others.
Also present at the event, are Mrs. Aimuonmwosa Patience, the Education Secretary for Esan Central Local Government Area, Dr. Mark Emiator, the Principal, Opoji Community Secondary School, Mr. Maxwell Omijie, who was represented by his wife, amongst others.
High Chief Henry Okodogbe, a retired Naval Officer, attended Eko-Ojemen primary school, Irrua, and has also been extending his benevolent gestures to the school.
