Practical Governance: Esan Central LG Chairman Leads

Practical Governance: Esan Central LG Chairman Leads

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

Like the Governor of Edo state, Senator Governor Monday Okpebholo, aka Akpakomiza, the Chairman of Esan Central Local Government Area, ECLGA, Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyanlenhimi, amongst the 18 Local Government Area Chairmen in Edo state, has since hit the ground running and setting the pace in practical governance.

Less than one month, in office, the pace of activities and the body language of the Chairman of ECLGA, is a pointer to the fact that, he has long since keyed into Governor Monday Okpebholo's mantra of 'A New Edo is rising'.

The Chairman, ECLGA, on assumption of office, has inspected some critical infrastructures in the local government council Secretariat, as well as in some parts of the local government area. He has also gone to inspect the Health centre in Eidenu; again, on Monday, the 13th of January, 2025, he ordered for the evacuation of a heap of debris that has for long, been polluting the air in Irrua market and it's environ.

The zeal with which the Chairman of Esan Central local government area, is pursuing the activities of working for the people of the local government is not surprising, especially bearing in mind that, he is the Chairman of the local government area where the governor hails from; and if the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo is redefining governance with his practical style of governance, then Rt. Hon. kelvin lyere has no choice but to cue in and show example to other local government Chairmen.

In one of his chats, Rt. Hon. Iyere said; "we cannot afford to fail in our activities of working for the people of Esan Central, we must show examples to others with respect to how a true representative of the people should operate, in working for the people..."

The energy, passion and zeal with which the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area is hitting the ground running, in following the footsteps of Governor Monday Okpebholo, will  make one to aptly describe the duo as 'Son and Father, United in the pursuant of the development of Esan Central Local Government Area and Edo state".

Esan Central local government, is definitely set for a new dawn, with the combination of Governor Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Kelvin Iyere Ainiyanlenhimi.
