Edo Political Appointments: Senator Okpebholo Should Look Beyond Party Politics

The Edo state governor elect, has been advised to look beyond party politics in appointing people into key positions, to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy maximally and effectively, as that is what is currently much anticipated and much desired by the people of Edo state as they wait for the inauguration of the governor elect in a couple of days' time.
The above advice was given by High Chief Benson Odaman the Ukiwa of Irrua Kingdom, in a chat with newsmen in his country home, Agua-Irrua, Esan central local government area of Edo state.
Speaking, Chief Odaman said; "Senator Monday Okpebholo needs the best hands possible. He should scout for those that can make the difference".
"One of the problems we have in this country, is not the initiation of ideas, but the implementation of same. Senator Okpebholo needs seasoned people with the requisite experience and set skills who can help in delivering the right policies".
Continuing, High Chief Benson Odaman, advised Senator Okpebholo not to allow himself to be defocused by those he called 'political landlords ', and that, he should focus on rendering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo state, and in doing so, he should address the lopsidedness in term of development in Edo state.
He concluded by saying, Edo people will assess him based on the extent to which he is able to reduce the poverty indices in the state.
High Chief Benson Odaman, worked and retired as a Director in the Ministry of Defense. He was the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry and was also at some point a Director in the Ministry of Finance, In the department of International Economic Relations.
