Edo NURTW To Get Full Support Of Edo Gov't.

The Edo state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, are to get the full support of Edo state government of the incoming administration of Edo state. This assurance was given recently by Edo state governor elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, while addressing the members of the union in Irrua, the headquarters of Esan central local government area, when he paid a thank you visit to the people of Esanland for the support he received from them during the just concluded Edo governorship election.

Speaking, the governor elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who thanked the members of the NURTW for standing solidly by him during the election, said; "your union will be reckoned with, I will give you the maximum support you need within the available resources, for you to operate maximally to the benefit of our people..."


"I understand you need buses to carry out your operation. God helping us, we will do what we can to assist, and in return, we expect the people to benefit from your services..."

Earlier, the Chairman of Edo state chapter of the union, Comrade Saturday Oamen, in a chat with Newsmen, said; "all we need from the incoming administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo, is his full support for our union, and a freehand for us to operate".


Comrade Oamen continued by saying, the National Union of Road Transport Workers has come a very long way in Edo state, and now, we have very experienced, level headed young people that knows the importance of good public relations while dealing with the public. 


He concluded by saying; " As a new Edo is rising with Senator Okpebholo, we will also play our role in ensuring a new system of operation, all in the interest of the people".


The governor elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, aka Akpakomiza, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, were on Friday, the 4th of October 2024 in Irrua for a thank you visit to the people of Esanland.
