Edo State Needs A Homegrown Leader, Not A Stranger

That Edo state is a land of culture, is a fact that cannot be controverted. As Edo people, we know our ancestry, lineage and family tree. We know how we are closely or distantly related. We know our playmates as we grow up, and at adulthood, we still relate with them even in our local dialects, and those that may have fallen out of tune with how to perfectly speak our dialects, mix it up with some pidgin. Our heritage is never forgotten, and we carry it like trade marks that it actually is. That is who we are. As it stands today, Edo State Needs A Homegrown Leader, Not A Stranger.
The above facts about Edo people were expressed by the Deputy Director, Mobilisation Committee of the Edo central All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Robert Okoinemen, the Oduma of Uromi kingdom.
Continuing, Chief Okoinemen said; "Instead of our society to focus on such relevant issues and use same in determining who the cap fits to occupy Osadebey Avenue, some are busy seeing smooth talks, and grandiloquent verbiage as a criteria to determine the level of intelligence of the individual that hope to lead the state for eight whooping years".
"To such people, they erroneously think that, fluency in speaking grammar, will make a good governor, unknown to them that, such criteria is used to achieve success in scamming. But, should we cede Edo state to scammers"?
Chief Okoinemen, who said, it has been alleged that one of the three major gubernatorial candidates for the September 2024 election, is a Yoruba man but only maternally related to Edo state, added that his interest in Edo state started when the state was seen as a business and money making opportunity.
Chief Oduma said; "most of the Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc leaders, need interpreters in English, but these countries are developed and are doing well ahead of England where English is their original language.
