For the world to be a better place for us and the future generation to live in, the legacies we are leaving behind, should be better than the legacy we met...these are the words of Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi when reacting to the process of electioneering currently ongoing as Edo State prepare for the governorship election.

"...as the governor, Edo state will become a model that other states in Nigeria will copy from. He has often emphasised that Governance..."

Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who said; "...the way things are going, we cannot pretend that all is well in Nigeria, and particularly in Edo State, with the excruciating pains that we experience daily as a result of the poor leadership that we assisted to enthrone in the past..."

"...we must be resolute in changing our narrative, and ensure that only our best foot, with the right mix of good Leadership qualities emerge as the governor of Edo State, as the legacies we leave behind, should be better than what we met, this way, our society will move from height to height and we will all be better for it..."

Ambassador Uhomoibhi, has consistently maintained that, under his watch, as the governor, Edo state will become a model that other states in Nigeria will copy from. He has often emphasised that Governance is not rocket science, but we only need to ensure that the right person is in saddle of power.

Ambassador Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, an outstanding former Nigeria Ambassador of great repute and integrity, the longest serving Permanent Secretary in the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a one-time Under Secretary General of the United Nations, UN, in Dafur-Sudan, who was also the President of the United Nations Human Right Council, UNHRC, and at same period, the President of the World Intelectual Property Organisation, WIPO; a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Edo gubernatorial Aspirant for the upcoming 2024 governorship election, is clearly the most outstanding of all the Edo gubernatorial Aspirants, irrespective of their Political parties.
