A former United Nations Boss, and former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Prof Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, the glaringly most outstanding of the Candidates contesting for the 2024 Edo governorship seat, has made it clear that, he has no excuses, but to deliver on his promises, if given the opportunity to govern Edo state.

Ambassador Uhomoibhi made this revelation recently in Abuja, while responding to newsmen, after he was cleared and certified by his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to contest for the election.

"... governance, is not Rocket Science, all we need to do, is put our best foot forward..."

Ambassador Uhomoibhi said; '...the people are my focus...I cannot afford to disappoint Edo People, I have a name to protect; by coming into Politics, I am putting the good name and reputation I made over the years on the line; I cannot afford to dent my image and integrity, my words are my bond.'

'...I am aware of all the vagaries that goes with politics, but I belong to the Welfarism category of Politicians, my Philosophy and the content of my mind, are completely different from what people have experienced, that made some to lose hope and lose interest in supporting Politicians... '

Continuing, Ambassador Uhomoibhi who emphasised that, Edo state, under his leadership, will be a model that every other state in Nigeria will copy from, added that, '...under my watch, our state will witness feasible, impactful, sustainable and tangible transformations that will be legacies that Edo People will be proud of for a long time to come...'

Finally, he said; '... governance, is not Rocket Science, all we need to do, is put our best foot forward, and that individual, should be someone that has track record in managing People, materials and resources; with me however, I have not only had this experience at the National level, I have also done it at the global level. I will bring my experience and International network and connections to bear in the governance of Edo state, for the benefit of our people...'

Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, the longest serving Permanent Secretary in the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a one-time Under Secretary General of the United Nations, UN, in Dafur-Sudan, who was also the President of the United Nations Human Right Council, UNHRC, and at same period, the President of the World Intelectual Property Organisation, WIPO, a PDP Edo gubernatorial Aspirant for the upcoming 2024 governorship election, is clearly the most outstanding of all the Edo gubernatorial Aspirants, irrespective of their Political parties.

Edo State Security Corps To Profile, Document Members - Coordinator  The Coordinator of Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), retired Commissioner of Police Friday Ibadin has urged personnel of the defunct Edo State Security Network now ESSC to make themselves available for profiling.
