A Socioeconomic-cultural and non-political group, Esan New Era on Friday 27th October, 2023 in a meeting hosted by the group's Executive Secretary Pastor Chris Onoye in Benin, Edo state, where critical Political stakeholders from Edo central Senatorial district were present, have resolved to, without any reservations, support any candidate of Esan extraction that will emerge after the primary elections of the different Political parties.

In their resolution, the  group, Esan New Era were emphatic about the fact that, irrespective of the Political Party, the Edo central axis, Agbazilo or Okpebholo, or whatever other divide the candidate/s may emerge from, the group will support the Esan candidate/s with all the financial and material resources at their disposal to ensure victory of an Esan candidate in the 2024 Edo state governorship election.

Again, they resolved that every other aspirant that may eventually not emerge as the candidate of their parties, should endeavor to support the Esan candidate that will eventually emerge.

Lastly, while thanking all Edo sons and daughters that have aligned with the Edo central agenda for the emergence of Edo Governor of Esan extraction come 2024, the group made a passionate appeal to all the indigenes of Edo state, as well as those resident in the state to understand that, for fairness, equity and justice, they should support Edo 2024 agenda for the emergence of Edo governor of Esan extraction, saying; "...we are all sons and daughters of the Oba..."

Speaking, with a team of Journalists after their meeting, the Organising Secretary of the group, Comrade Valentine Uduebor,

who reiterated the groups commitment to the actualisation of Edo governor of Esan extraction, added that; "...we are not by our resolution insisting that Edo 2024 governorship position is our entitlement, all we are saying, is that, Edo central also have a stake in this state, as such, we are asking all and sundry to support us just as we have supported other regions in time past"

On his part, the Secretary of the Group, Pst. Christopher Onoye, said; '...my greatest joy is that, a good number of people from Edo North and Edo South, are supporting the emergence of Edo governor of Esan extraction come 2024'

Continuing, he said; 'whole some of such people are expressing their support with their body languages, others have clearly come out in support of it...' this, according to him, shows the spirit of oneness existing amongst is on Edo state.'

It will be recalled that in April 22nd 2023, Esan New Era held a Press conference in Benin, where they appealed to all the Political parties participating in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election to zone the position to Edo central Senatorial district. Again, on Monday, 17th July, 2023, they visited Labour Party, LP, Secretariat in Benin, to appeal to the leadership of the party on the need for the party to zone the 2024 gubernatorial ticket to Edo central Senatorial district.
