CEESF Pays Courtesy Call To Chairman, Esan West

The Steering Committee and members of the Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum (CEESF) on Tuesday 2nd October, 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Executive Chairman, Esan West Local Government Area, Hon. Amb. Collins Aigbogun at the Council Secretariat in Ekpoma, the headquarters of Esan West Local Government Area, Edo state.
Adressing the Chairman, the Convener of the Forum, Comrade Dr. Jude Obasanmi gave a brief of the Forum and the achievements made since inception in 2017. He informed the Chairman about the role the Forum played that led to the provision of operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police Area Command in Ekpoma by the Former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Joe Edionwele and the Management of Big Taste Fast Foods Worldwide.
Comrade Obasanmi who in addition, enumerated the efforts of the Forum in advocating for the stopage of incessant estimated billings by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, also pointed out that CEESF interfaced with government officials and its agencies both at the State and Federal level on the repair and reconstruction of roads in Ekpoma. Continuing, he added that, CEESF as part of it's activities have organized workshops for several interest groups on how to effectively engage government and her agencies in a civil manner, saying CEESF collaborated with the former Head of Service, HOS, of the Council, Engr. Emmanuel Ibhadode to mount barricades in some areas within the metropolis to stop the influx of heavy duty trucks using the interiors of Ekpoma roads as exit point because of the current poor condition of the Benin/Auchi express way.
Comrade Obasanmi, the Convener, CEESF, also used the opportunity to inform the Executive Chairman of pertinent issues that require the Chairman's urgent attention which borders on Education, Security, Health, Waste Management, Water and road maintenance.
With respect to the negative activities of the Taskforce set up by the new Council Management, to protect the roads against heavy duty trucks, the Convener, CEESF advised that, due monitoring of the activities of the task force should be embarked upon.
Finally, Comrade Obasanmi appealed to the Chairman to always work with the Forum in areas that require professionalism, technicalities, advocacies and monitoring. According to him, the Forum is ever ready to work with the Council to make Ekpoma a better place.
In his response, the Executive Chairman, Esan West Local Government Area, Hon. Amb. Collins Aigbogun thanked the Forum for finding time to pay him a courtesy visit and acknowledged the areas of concerns raised by the Forum. He informed members that he will be a month old in the office by Wednesday 4th October, 2023. He added that he will carefully look at the presentation made by the Forum and respond accordingly. The chairman also appealed to the Forum to join hands with him in making Ekpoma and its environs a better place.
Highpoint of the courtesy call was a group photograph with the Executive Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary to the Council flanked by Comrades Dcn. Lawrence Isiriaoje, Babatunde James, Victor Idualu, Omonye Omogiagbegbe and other members of the Forum.
