ALLI DAY: Uhomoibhi To Speak On: The 'University Man' As Intellectual Leader

Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, will on Friday September 22nd 2023, be delivering a lecture on the topic titled: Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, The ‘University Man’ As Intellectual Leader, on the occasion of this year Ambrose Alli Day celebration.
The event will hold at the International Conference/Student Centre of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state.
It will be recalled that, the remembrance of late Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, who established the Bendel State University, BENSU, Ekpoma, that later became Edo state University, and now, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma,was the governor of the defunct Bendel state, and the celebration of Alli Day, originally started in 2015, but was continued in 2017 under the auspices of a Board of Trustee, BoT, of the Foundation.
This year’s celebration, and the choice of the topic of the lecture to be delivered, as well as the personality to deliver the lecture, are unique, bearing in mind, the challenges the University has been going through over the years, and the efforts of the executive governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, to reposition the University.
The guest lecturer, for this year’s Alli Day Celebration, is a cerebral first class diplomat, a Professor of History and International Relations who obtained his Doctorate degree from the prestigious Oxford University, in the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Prof. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, is the foremost aspirant for the Edo state 2024 governorship election.
