Mudiame University Irrua Holds Second Matriculation Ceremony

By the power conferred on me as the Vice Chancellor of Mudiame University Irrua, and by the name of Jesus Christ, I hereby declare the second matriculation ceremony of Mudiame University, Irrua open.

The above statement, by  Professor (Mrs) Abiodun Oluseye Adeyemo the Acting Vice Chancellor, Mudiame University, Irrua, kick started the second matriculation ceremony of the University at the theatre hall of the University in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo state, on Saturday, 24th June 2023.

In her welcome address, the Acting Vice Chancellor, said; ‘…matriculation ceremonies in institutions of higher learning, is an age-long event to mark the formal admission of fresh students…”; saying, Mudiame University seeks to redefine the standard of education in Nigeria; consequently, close the academic/industrial gap to stimulate employment and national development.

The Vice Chancellor, in her address, also revealed that, in spite of the fact that Mudiame University was accredited by the Nigeria University Commission, NUC, only two years ago, the University came second in the Tertiary Educational Institution category of the Just concluded 7th Education of Science, Technology and Innovation held on the 16th to 20th January, 2023 at the Eagle square, Abuja, where over three hundred and twenty tertiary institutions and government parastatals participated in.


While congratulating the matriculating students, Professor (Mrs.) Adeyemo told them that, Mudiame University is admitting them as work in progress and at the end of their studies, they will be released as change agents. To achieve this, she said the students must shun all distractions and complacency; she advised the students to work assiduously and diligently if they must achieve the aim of being in the University.


Finally, the Vice Chancellor commended the Chancellor of the University, Professor Sunny Eboh Eromonsele for his courage in establishing the University. She also hailed him for the growth and development in the University, in spite of the short time of the establishment of the University.
